RON LUMMUS RACING has stepped up again with another industry first by introducing “AR” Abrasion Resistant Hard Coated Polycarbonate racing windows for your aircooled Volkswagen. Rule book legal, widely used by NHRA and the aerospace industry. Polycarbonate is a soft material, which is how it absorbs impact. Because of this it scratches easily. Even cleaning an uncoated window can cause scratching.  “AR” hard coat polycarbonate both sides, is both abrasion & UV resistant, resisting yellowing & hazing. Hard coated polycarbonate offers glass like surface hardness coupled with the superior impact strength of polycarbonate with approx. a 50% weight savings and increased driver safety compared to glass.

Available in Drag Racing “Flush Mount” style, all windows are 1/8 “ Polycarbonate with beveled edges and pre drilled mounting holes . Clear film coated and ready to border paint.

And Cal- Look style with straight cut edges that use stock OEM window rubber with a 3/16” thick front window & 1/8” doors, quarters, & rear windows.

Our polycarbonate window sets are the ultimate in optic quality, aerodynamics, stock appearance, and easy installation. All RLR Polycarbonate full window sets are available to order with or without “ AR Hard Coat Finish”,  however we do recommend AR Hard Coat on all Polycarbonate Front windows.

Flush Mount Kits are NHRA legal, offer minimal wind resistance and maximum weight reduction. Kits require border painting and rivet mounting holes to be drilled to car body.

How to Measure Your VW Beetle Front & Rear Windows

Correct measurements ensure we send the right window for your exact year.
Because many Beetles have been modified over time, do not rely only on the model year
always measure the openings.

Step-by-Step Measuring Instructions

  1. Measure the vertical opening (height).
Place the end of the tape at the bottom window jam (where the glass sits – as seen in the photos)
and measure straight up to the top of the window jam.
  2. Repeat for both front and rear windows.
    Record:

    • Front window height
    • Rear window height
  3. Add your measurements to the order notes.
In the Notes section at checkout, include something like:

    Front: H = __ in
    Rear: H = __ in

Measure only the metal window jam (the actual opening – as illustrated in the photo). Do not include rubber seals,
trim, or headliner. These measurements help us confirm the correct parts for your Beetle,
especially on cars with chopped tops, swapped bodies, or custom work.
