RLR/Strange Single Adjustable Shocks allow you to control the dampening effect of your shocks extension resistance, by turning an external knob that offers 10 calibrated setting options.
RLR/Strange Double Adjustable Shocks offer all the benefits of the single adjustable. But offer an additional knob for compression bump, which allows for adjustment of both compression & extension stroke. Complete dampening control to fine tune your Volkswagens suspension.
Now you adjust the dampening of the shock with a twist of a knob! You can make the shock softer, or stiffer, depending on what your car or track requires.

We recommend using RLR Limit Strap Kits to reduce rear wheel tuck during deacceleration. RLR 1" Transmission Raise Kit
RLR’s revolutionary 1-inch Raise Kit works by lowering your VW and keeps the rear chamber to a minimum by raising the motor and transaxle 1-inch over stock. Built solid, this kit is a must for the VW owner looking for that “Pro Street” stance, or the racer being hammered every week at the drags. This kit includes front and rear mounts, a locator mount, as well as transaxle studs. These solid mounts help eliminate wheel hop, and they are less prone to being broken.

Adjustable Spring Plates
RLR adjustable spring plates allow rear suspension changes with the rear tire on. Raise or lower your car and add, or subtract, the amount of traction you require.
Adjustable spring plates are built the same way as the standard plates, except that they are adjustable. These bolt-on spring plates allow about 1 3/16” of up or down adjustment by turning one screw on each side. The kits come complete with a full set of inner and outer urethane grommets and are available for both IRS and Swing Axle applications.

RLR ladder bars are available for the do-it-yourselfer. They can be purchased with other parts to convert your spring-plate car into a professional ladder bar set-up. Made of 4130 chromoly steel tubing and TIG weld, these bars only weigh 3lbs. each and come in a variety of lengths to fit your needs. RLR recommends a 32″ ladder bar for rear-engine VW race cars, but your car may require a different length.

Spring Plate Retainers
RLR Billet spring plate retainers eliminate any tow in on the hard drag race launch and helps keep the suspension stable at high speeds. The retainers are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, polished for a high luster finish and then they are anodized. Complete with CNC machined bronze bearing bushing installed. Made in the USA. Limit Straps are a necessity on today’s race cars. These straps prevent dangerous wheel tuck on deceleration. Available for pan-type suspensions and coil-over suspensions.
RLR offers a 1/2″ shock spacer, a 1/2″ X 3.5 Grade 5 bolt, and a 1/2″ grade lock nut for installing shocks and limit straps.
